Graduation?!

So being an Art education major, you could basically say I am double majoring. Rarely do Art majors ever graduate in 4 years (from what I hear). So I sat down with my advisor yesterday to figure out exactly what I had left to take and so on. I was ECSTATIC to hear that it would be possible to graduate in four years!! I sat down today to double check and figure out my schedule for next semester, and realized that she left out a couple classes AND the summer classes I had hoped to take may or may not even be offered.

Total and complete disappointment.

ugh....

However, on a brighter note--Painting is going SO well!! We're working on a painting right now in pairs (two ppl sharing a still-life) My friend Tracy and I are doing a painting of a patent leather high heel shoe, a slowly rotting nectarine (not part of the plan...), a pear, and a round hat box with a wine bottle on top. The catch is we can only use variations of red and green (the complimentary colors we chose). Wow, is it interesting!

As for Photo class, I feel so inspired!! I haven't done much of anything new lately, just mainly trying to learn my way around the darkroom, but we had a critique today and just being able to observe what others are discovering and listening to Cathy (the instructor) speak about the various parts of the photograph that I would otherwise never have noticed. The assignment I'll be working on tomorrow is Movement....I'll keep ya posted ;)

Pure Exhaustion

So I had hoped for my first post to be a bit more exiting, but I suppose my life decided otherwise...

I'm currently pondering over whether to use the last half hour before work for a small nap, or to do this blog (You can see where I'm at). For the past 12 hours or so my eyelids half progressively added about 2lbs per hour, my bloodshot eyes could be photographed for an art-piece, and my hair appears to have been through some sort of strange wind tunnel.

I'm exhausted.

I've been in class from 9:05-5:20 and then I had to do yet another SSI (Student Success something or other). Being an RA in all freshmen dorm has it's ups and downs. SSI's are not one the more positive things. It's basically a half-hour interview with EVERY girl on my hall--resulting in about 15 extra hours on top of my class schedule and life (sometimes I wonder if I still have one of those). Not to mention I'm on duty from 8pm-12pm for the next two nights, and then 8pm-2am Friday and Saturday night. Yes--I'm exhausted.

So...for now I'll put the complaints on hold and hope that tomorrow will be better. :) (It usually is)

With Love

Alex
